Most automation projects fail because they're designed by people who don't understand the work, or built by people who don't understand the business. The handover lands as a black box. The team that has to live with it never had a say in how it was built.

    Specify before code.

    Every system is described in writing before a line is written. Inputs, outputs, failure modes, success criteria. If we cannot specify it, we will not build it.

    No black boxes.

    You receive the source, the credentials, the runbook, and the diagrams. The system explains itself. Nothing depends on us being on call.

  3. 03

    Bounded autonomy.

    Agents and workflows operate inside a contract. Consequential actions require approval. Every decision leaves an audit trail. Autonomy is granted, not assumed.

    Fewer moving parts.

    A system that does one thing well is worth more than a platform that does ten things partially. We refuse scope that does not earn its complexity.

    Ship over plan.

    We measure the engagement by what runs in production, not what was diagrammed. Plans are revised against reality. The artifact is the work.
